Cloudflare has introduced Kitesurf, a new browser built mainly for AI agents rather than everyday human users.
It gives developers a ready-made way to build AI systems that can browse websites, collect information, fill out forms, and complete online tasks.
Unlike regular browsers, Kitesurf is designed around the needs of AI agents, with a focus on speed, lower resource use, context handling, and token efficiency.
Security is another key part of the browser, as AI agents can face risks such as prompt injection while interacting with websites.
Cloudflare built Kitesurf on its Workers platform in about 12 weeks. It is currently available as a free beta through Browser Run.
Developers can use it for tasks such as opening web pages, taking screenshots, collecting data, and filling out forms without building their own browser setup.
Cloudflare says Kitesurf uses less CPU and memory than Chromium for common AI-agent tasks, which could help reduce computing costs.
The browser also uses several open-source technologies and has already passed more than 215,000 web platform tests.
Kitesurf is still in beta, but it points to a future where browsers may be built more for AI agents as they take on more online tasks.
