How to Sell Missed Call Text Back: Agency Pricing (2026)

Missed call text back is one of the simplest things a marketing agency can sell to a local service business. When a call goes unanswered, the caller gets a text within seconds, and the conversation continues by SMS instead of dying in voicemail. The owner understands it in one sentence, it's quick to set up in HighLevel (GoHighLevel), and the monthly costs are published down to the fraction of a cent.

This guide is for agency owners and resellers who want to package it as a paid service. It covers what to put in the offer, which HighLevel plan you need, what each client costs you, a cost-plus pricing worksheet, how to bill usage, and a setup checklist. Every price and feature below comes from HighLevel's own pricing page and help center, checked October 8, 2026 (sources at the end). We don't run an agency or publish client results. Worked examples are labeled hypothetical, and this isn't legal, tax, or financial advice.

TL;DR: Missed call text back is an easy first offer for a HighLevel agency. Every unanswered call gets an automatic text, and the client gets a shared inbox for the replies. Your costs per client are small and published. A local number is $1.15/month, US texts are $0.00747 per segment each way plus carrier fees, forwarded calls are $0.02/minute, and A2P registration costs $22.50 once plus $1.50-$10.50 a month for a Low Volume campaign. Add your share of the plan (Starter $97/month for 3 sub-accounts, Unlimited $297 for unlimited). Then either bundle usage into a flat fee or rebill it. Rebilling at cost needs the $297 plan, and rebilling with a markup needs the $497 Agency Pro plan. Register A2P under each client's own legal business, and sell with the client's own call numbers, not invented statistics.

What should a missed call text back offer include?

Sell an outcome the owner can check: every missed call gets a reply, and nobody on the team has to remember to call back. A complete offer usually includes:

  • The text-back itself. Turned on in the client's HighLevel sub-account, with a first message written for their trade.
  • A business number or call routing. Either a new local number for the client or routing that sends unanswered calls through a HighLevel number.
  • A reply inbox. Replies land in HighLevel's unified conversations inbox, which is also in the HighLevel mobile app (both listed on its pricing page), so the owner can answer from the truck.
  • A repeat-caller rule. HighLevel's built-in text-back fires on every missed call, even when the same person calls three times in a row. HighLevel suggests customizing its workflow recipe, for example with a wait step or tags, to avoid duplicate texts.
  • A2P 10DLC registration in the client's name (more on this below).
  • A short monthly report. Missed calls, texts sent, and replies, so the client sees the service working.

Keep the first offer narrow. Reviews, booking, and Voice AI make good upsells later, once the client trusts you with their phones.

What does missed call text back cost you per client?

These are HighLevel's published US rates from its Phone System Pricing & Billing Guide, updated September 29, 2026:

Cost item HighLevel rate (US)
Local phone number $1.15/month (toll-free $2.15/month)
SMS $0.00747 per segment, outbound and inbound
Carrier fees per SMS (out / in) AT&T $0.0035 / $0.0035; T-Mobile $0.0045 / $0.0025; Verizon $0.0050 / $0.0070; US Cellular $0.0050 / $0.0100; other carriers $0.0042 / $0.0100
Inbound calls answered in the web or mobile app $0.01165/minute (two legs, both billed)
Inbound calls forwarded to a phone number $0.02/minute
Call billing Full minutes; partial minutes round up
A2P registration (Low Volume campaign) $22.50 one-time (includes a $3 Fast Track fee), plus $1.50-$10.50 per campaign per month
A2P registration (Sole Proprietor) $22.50 one-time, plus up to $2.10 per campaign per month

Three details matter for pricing:

  1. A2P fees start when you submit, whether or not the campaign is approved. Since February 1, 2026, resubmissions are free.
  2. Inbound texts cost money too. Every customer reply is billed at the SMS rate plus the carrier's inbound fee.
  3. A fixed 5% markup applies to pass-through charges (A2P fees, SMS carrier fees, and a few others) at the sub-account level, but only when rebilling is enabled.
