I wanted to share a project I've been working on recently: Huminn.
The Problem:
Modern feed readers and news aggregators have become overly complex. Most require creating accounts, sync through remote servers, track reading behavior, or push algorithmic feeds into your face. On top of that, standard Chrome New Tab pages are often cluttered or underutilized.
The Solution:
I wanted a clean, instant, and privacy-respecting alternative, so I built Huminn as a Chrome extension. It transforms your New Tab into a local-first RSS dashboard.
Why Local-First?
Your feeds and reading history stay on your local device (IndexedDB / Chrome Storage).
Zero account creation, zero backend tracking, zero cloud dependencies.
Includes integrated browser AI features to digest long articles right in your browser.
I'm building this in public and focusing on making personal content curation fast, private, and distraction-free.

One of the better indie landing pages I've seen lately — 'No backend, no proxy, no cloud' is punchy and instantly credible. A few conversion nits: 'Local-first news on your New Tab' leads with architecture over benefit; most RSS users don't know they want 'local-first' — they want 'no account, no tracking, no algorithm,' so say that and let local-first be the proof. The annotated New Tab replica's placeholder content undersells it — use real headlines so visitors feel it working. And 'On-device AI needs Chrome on desktop' belongs next to the feature, not under the CTA. The magazine-grid pitch is the most distinctive thing on the page — consider making it the hero.
