AMD is bringing FSR 4.1 to Xbox consoles and the ASUS Ally handheld ecosystem.
This iteration leverages AI to balance image fidelity with resource management, targeting performance improvements for systems like the Xbox Series S and Ally S.
Beyond console and handheld hardware, the rollout includes backward compatibility for the RX 6000 series GPUs and Ryzen AI 9 mobile processors.
AMD projects the Xbox Ally X will receive the feature by late 2026.
Which devices will benefit?
The upgrade is expected to help improve performance, especially on devices with limited capabilities, such as the Xbox Series S, Ally S, and the original Ally model. The list of devices that will support the new technology also includes the Xbox Series X, Ally X, and Ally X20.
When is the release expected?
The company has not yet given a specific timeline for when most devices will receive the update. One exception is the Ally X, which may get the feature before the end of 2026.
Availability on computers
In addition to consoles and mobile devices, AMD confirmed that FSR 4.1 will also be available on older RX 6000 series graphics cards, as well as laptops featuring Ryzen AI 9 processors.
