Apple has introduced its first touch-screen MacBook Pro models featuring a PROLED XDR Display in 14-inch and 16-inch configurations.
The hardware announcement details retail pricing tiers between $2,899 and $4,799, alongside structured monthly lease plans via Klarna for eligible buyers.
The new device rental program
The company offers the ability to acquire devices through the Apple Upgrade program, which launched in July in partnership with Klarna for select iPhone, Apple Watch, MacBook and iPad. Participation in the program requires a credit check, and there are no interest or late fees.
For the 14-inch MacBook Pro, lease plans start at $55,99 per month for 36 months or $78,99 per month for 24 months. For the 16-inch model, prices start at $65,99 per month for 36 months or $91,99 for 24 months.
Options for new phones
The program also includes the new phone models:
- The iPhone Duo It retails for $1.999 to $3.199, with leases starting at $57,99 per month for 24 months or $82,99 per month for 12 months. This price does not include AppleCare+ insurance, which must be purchased separately.
- The iPhone 18 Pro starts at $1.199, with monthly installments starting at $34,99 for 24 months or $49,99 for 12 months.
- The iPhone 18 Pro Max starts at $1.299, with monthly installments starting at $37,99 for 24 months or $53,99 for 12 months.
It's worth noting that older or more affordable models, such as the iPhone 16, iPhone 16 Plus, Apple Watch SE, MacBook Neo, Mac mini, iPad (A16), and Studio Display, are not available through this program.
What happens at the end of the lease?
At the end of the lease period, the user has three options: return the device, pay off the remaining amount to keep it, or upgrade to a new device.
