Apple refreshed its HomePod mini hardware line with the integration of the S10 chip, bringing enhanced acoustic performance, sound-detection capabilities, and updated ecosystem pairing options.
The device carries a $149 price tag and launches following preorders starting October 13, 2026.
The new model costs $50 more than the original version released in 2020. Inside, it now has a new chip that improves sound, volume, and overall acoustic performance.
The device can listen to sounds like a fire alarm siren and send a notification to the user's phone. It also has a visual feature called Sound Glow, which uses colors from album art to illuminate and move the speaker to the beat of the music, and offers options with relaxing sounds like rain or ocean waves.
Users can create a four-speaker home entertainment system with a new Apple TV, or set the new speakers as the primary choice for calls and music on Mac computers.
The company announced that the speaker will gain advanced artificial intelligence features in the future for more natural conversations, but did not specify when exactly this upgrade will be released.
The new speaker is available in pink, green, blue, white, and dark blue. Pre-orders begin on October 13, 2026, and it will be available on October 30, 2026.
