Apple has rolled out iOS 27.2 for iPhones and iPads, packing over 160 security fixes alongside expanded Siri AI memory capabilities, new FaceTime streaming features, and hardware support updates for the foldable iPhone Duo.

New features for Siri and apps

With the new update, the digital assistant gains support for French, Japanese, Korean, Portuguese, and Spanish in beta. Siri can now remember details from past conversations and pull information from other sources, such as photos in messages, calendar participants, voicemails, and browsing history. Users can choose which apps are excluded from these memories.

The update also adds support for Apple Pencil on the foldable iPhone Duo in apps like Notes, as well as a lighting effect for better facial visibility in video calls. FaceTime adds simultaneous front- and rear-facing camera viewing in group calls, as well as the ability to add external sign language interpreters or people providing live captioning.

Additionally, the podcast app is being revamped to show new episodes and what's currently playing, while the iPhone now has the ability to watch up to four live sports broadcasts simultaneously.

Security fixes

The new version includes more than 160 security fixes. Several of them were also ported to the older version iOS 26, which is still used by about 80% of iPhone owners.
