OpenAI has updated its ChatGPT Chrome extension with active tab control for Work mode, enabling automated form filling with user review checkpoints, file downloads, message sending, and tab grouping across Chromium browsers.
The updated extension can now fill out forms using saved information, pausing just before the final submission for the user to review. It can also send messages, download files, and sort open tabs by topic.
How to connect to tabs
Users can now use the @ symbol along with the word Chrome in the web or desktop app, or even mention a specific tab to tap into its contents.
Where is the feature available?
The integration works in browsers based on the same technology as Chrome, such as Microsoft Edge, Brave, Opera, and Vivaldi. However, Firefox and Apple's Safari are not currently supported.
