Users can opt out via privacy settings, and the feature is disabled by default in the EU.
The company's goal is to make public channels work like old-fashioned online forums, making it easy for anyone looking to find solutions and advice. But because messages will be seen more widely, the platform gives users the option to choose whether they want to participate.

If you don't want your messages to be displayed, you can go to Discord's settings, select the data and privacy section, and disable the corresponding option.
This setting is rolling out gradually over a period of one month. In the European Union, the feature is disabled by default due to European privacy regulations.
