Google has released Universal Cart in the US, integrating cross-store product aggregation and tracking into Search and the Gemini app.
Powered by the Universal Commerce Protocol, the feature handles price drop notifications, inventory alerts, and promotional code matching.
The tool allows users to aggregate and track products through search and the Gemini app. When someone finds a product they like, they can save it for easy retrieval later, creating a central management space for purchases from multiple stores.
In addition to storage, the service tracks product prices and availability. Users receive notifications when the price of an item they have saved drops or when a product becomes available again.
The process also includes features that take into account credit card privileges and display relevant promotional codes. The purchase completion is connected to Google's special Universal Commerce Protocol system.

The new feature is part of a broader market trend, as other companies, such as Amazon and OpenAI, have also added similar automated shopping features.
