WhatsApp is testing a message scheduling feature in Android beta 2.26.8.11, allowing users to queue encrypted texts, links, and media from 10 minutes up to two weeks in advance.
According to the information, the feature appeared in the update with code 2.26.8.11. The way to use it is simple, as the user just needs to hold down the send button. Then, a menu appears at the bottom of the screen that allows you to select the delivery date and time, while there is also a separate section for managing messages waiting to be sent.
Scheduled messages will be sent as usual at the pre-set time, even if the device is offline. The feature supports text, links, photos and videos, which are protected by end-to-end encryption, and is also compatible with group chats.
Messages can be scheduled from ten minutes to two weeks in advance. The feature is currently available to select testers on Android devices and is expected to roll out more broadly to more accounts in the near future.
