Hey DEV Community 👋🏾
This is my first post here, and I wanted to start with the thing that got me into all of this in the first place — PC gaming.
I've always loved games. Not just playing them, but understanding how they work, how to get the most performance out of my system, and eventually, how all the tech behind it actually functions. What started as late-night gaming sessions slowly turned into watching hardware reviews, building my own rigs, messing with BIOS settings, and even diving into the basics of code.
That curiosity? It stuck with me.
🎮 Where It All Started
For me, PC gaming wasn’t just a hobby — it was an entry point into a world of creativity and technology.
I started learning how to build PCs from scratch
I optimized my games using custom settings, mods, and tweaks
I learned what GPUs and CPUs actually do (beyond just the numbers)
And I started looking into tools like Python, PowerShell, and bash scripting — just to automate parts of my setup
It wasn’t long before I realized: I wasn’t just a gamer anymore. I was becoming a techie.
💡 Why I’m Here
I joined DEV because I want to go further. I'm not a pro developer yet, but I’ve got a growing curiosity about:
Game development (Unity, Unreal, etc.)
Coding my own tools or scripts
Understanding how engines and APIs work
Connecting with people who love both gaming and building cool stuff
I also want to document what I learn — whether that’s building a mod manager, scripting auto-start tools for my games, or even trying out some basic game dev projects. This space seems like the perfect place to do that.
🛠️ My Setup
Because let’s be honest — no gaming post is complete without the rig:
CPU: AMD Ryzen 7 5800X
GPU: NVIDIA RTX 3070
RAM: 32GB DDR4 3600MHz
Monitor: 1440p @ 165Hz
Favorite Games Right Now: Cyberpunk 2077, Valorant, Baldur’s Gate 3, and Starfield
🚀 What's Next?
I'm currently learning the basics of Python and messing around with simple scripts for managing files and optimizing my startup apps. I might even try building a basic desktop app just for fun. Game development is also on my radar — nothing huge, just experiments for now.
💬 If you’re a gamer who got into tech because of it — I’d love to hear your story. What got you curious? What are you building or learning?
Thanks for reading — this is just the beginning of the journey!
Stay curious, stay optimized. 🕹️⚙️
