I Built a Free Open Graph Link Preview Tool for Developers 🚀

As developers, we spend a lot of time building websites, optimizing metadata, and making sure our projects look good when shared on social media.

But there's one small problem: how do you check what your website's link preview actually looks like before sharing it?

There are tools that help with this, but some put useful features behind paid plans. For a simple task like previewing a URL, I wanted to build a free alternative.

So, I created OG Link Preview!

🔗 Try it here: https://oglinkpreview.vercel.app/

💡 What is OG Link Preview?

OG Link Preview is a web tool designed to help developers inspect how a URL may appear when shared online.

It focuses on Open Graph metadata, which helps platforms generate rich link previews containing information such as:

  • Title — The title displayed in the preview.
  • Description — A short summary of the page.
  • Preview image — The image associated with the shared link.
  • Metadata — Information that helps social platforms understand your page.

🎯 Why did I build it?

I wanted a straightforward tool that developers could use without needing to pay just to check their link previews.

Sometimes, small tools solve everyday problems and save developers time. That's the idea behind this project.

🚀 Give it a try!

Visit OG Link Preview and test it with your website.

I'd love to hear your thoughts:

  • What features would make this tool more useful?
  • What other free developer tools would you like to see?
  • Have you ever struggled with incorrect social media previews?

Your feedback will help me improve it.

Thanks for checking out my project! ❤️
