I Built a Free Freelancer Payment Reminder Email Generator (Because FreshBooks Won't Do It)

If you're a freelancer, you know the drill: you send an invoice, you wait, and then you have to send a follow-up email. And then another. And another.

The problem? Most invoicing tools like FreshBooks or Wave give you generic reminder templates that feel stiff and impersonal. They're designed for SMBs, not for solopreneurs who actually like their clients and don't want to sound like a debt collector.

So I built something better.

What It Is

A free, browser-based payment reminder email generator for freelancers. No signup, no credit card, no data stored on any server. Everything runs locally in your browser.

Here's what makes it different:

  • 4 scenario templates — First Reminder, 7 Days Late, 30 Days Late, and Final Notice. Each one is written specifically for the freelancer-client relationship.
  • Tone control — Pick Gentle, Standard, or Firm. Because sometimes you need to be nice, and sometimes you need to be clear.
  • Copy to clipboard or download as .eml/.txt — Use it in Gmail, Outlook, or Thunderbird. Your call.
  • Completely free forever — No freemium, no upsells, no "upgrade to unlock."

Why This Exists

I've been a freelancer for over 5 years. I've sent hundreds of reminder emails. The ones from FreshBooks felt robotic. The ones I wrote myself took forever. I wanted something in between — professional but human, firm but fair.

And I wanted it to be free. Not "free for 30 days" free. Free forever free. Because chasing late payments shouldn't cost you anything.

Who It's For

  • Freelance designers, writers, developers, consultants
  • Anyone who sends invoices and needs to follow up politely
  • People who value their privacy (no data leaves your browser)
  • Anyone tired of $25-50/month tools that don't do what they need

How to Use It

  2. Fill in your details — client name, invoice number, amount, due date
  3. Pick your tone and scenario
  4. Copy the email or download it as .eml
  5. Send it. Done.
