I can't believe this is how we do stuff now.

I know why I quit coding after a decade of learning, spending countless nights with lots of coffee, and trying to figure things out. I guess I saw it coming, like many others did. We're being replaced more and more by AI, and the way we work is shifting. But what if you don't like being shifted? Haha. I don't.

Anyways, three years later, I came back to give coding another try.

I started experimenting with ChatGPT. Connected it to my newly created repository, offshorts, read some documentation on MDN about how browser extensions work, set up a basic folder structure and asked it to plan things out.

The idea was simple: a browser extension with a toggle button to hide or show YouTube Shorts.

Less than ten minutes later, everything was done. Even published.

Sure, it's a small project, and that was intentional. But it made me stop and think.

I still like knowing how things work. I like looking at the code, understanding the structure and seeing how everything fits together. But I wonder: should I just give in to the "vibe" and forget that the code even exists?

Isn't that vulnerable? What happens if I don't? Will it even matter?

I honestly think nothing makes much sense anymore. And if that's the case, maybe I can just do whatever the fuck I want. Or don't want to do. Including how I work, what I create, and how much of it I actually want to understand.

So here I am. It's a little sad, but I'm back.

Kinda.

Yeah, I give up. Hahah.
