You know what I really, REALLY hate? Shady QR Code generator pages. There are so many of them out there on the internet—one more dubious than the next. Practically all of them want:
- A subscription from you
- Your login details
- Your money
And if that’s not enough, they love generating tracking links instead of just giving you a simple QR code. They pretend to be oh-so-helpful, but really, it’s all about collecting your data and milking you for profit.
They’re Just Math (Not Magic)
I got so fed up with it. QR codes aren’t a magical enigma—there’s no sorcery or witchcraft involved. Yes, it’s some level of math, but definitely not the kind that requires the sacrifice of your data. Even better: in the year 2025, we don’t need to send people’s data to a server just to generate a QR code. I mean, we can generate these things live, on the fly, while you’re typing your content!
Introducing: Qrify
After two evenings of coding, I created my own thing: Qrify. Currently, it has the basic features you need, and guess what? It runs 100% in your browser, no tracking or sneaky stuff. I wanted something straightforward that doesn’t shake you down for a subscription or a login.
Oh, and if you notice the language is a bit…odd in places—yes, it’s a crude mashup of German and English right now. Today is 09.01.2025, so the internationalization (i18n) part is still pending. But hey, deal with it for now. More updates will come in time.
Update: It's localized now ^^

If you also hate shady QR code generators, or just want a quick, no-BS tool, I hope Qrify helps you out.
That’s all. If you’re as tired as I am of shady QR code sites, well, now you’ve got a free, open-source alternative. Enjoy the new freedom from dubious data-hungry websites!
Peace out,
— Josun
