A few months ago, I started wondering:
What would happen if you could actually see the personality of a WhatsApp group?
Who sends the most messages?
Who disappears for weeks and suddenly returns?
Who is the biggest yapper?
Who keeps the group alive?
That idea became ChatClash.
ChatClash turns a WhatsApp group chat export into statistics, awards, timelines and a shareable “Wrapped”-style result. It is designed to make group chats more fun to look back on — and to settle completely unnecessary arguments with data.
What it does
ChatClash can reveal things like:
- Message counts and activity patterns
- The most active members
- Biggest yappers and professional lurkers
- Night owls and ghost-mode members
- Group awards and personality-style results
- Memorable moments from the conversation
- Shareable result cards
- Optional roasts and courtroom-style verdicts
The goal is not to create another serious analytics dashboard. It is closer to Spotify Wrapped for your group chat: visual, personal and slightly chaotic.
Privacy was a core requirement
WhatsApp exports can contain very personal conversations, so I did not want users to upload their original chat file to a server just to generate some fun statistics.
The original chat export is processed locally in the browser and stays on the user’s device. Users can export their WhatsApp chat, extract the TXT file if necessary, and load it directly into ChatClash.
That was one of the most important product decisions I made. A fun product should not require people to give away their entire private conversation.
Why I built it
Group chats contain years of inside jokes, arguments, recurring characters and completely unexplained moments. But there is no easy way to turn that history into something people can actually explore together.
ChatClash is my attempt to make that possible in a simple and entertaining way.

I am still improving the experience, especially the quality of the generated results, the shareable cards and the mobile flow.
One known limitation: Facebook login is not working yet. I’m aware of the issue, and the ChatClash business/app is still being verified by Facebook. Google login and email login are available in the meantime.
I would love honest feedback
I am particularly interested in feedback on:
- Whether the concept is immediately clear
- Which result would make you share it with your friends
- Whether the privacy explanation is convincing
- Which statistics or awards are missing
- Whether the experience feels fun or too much like a normal dashboard
If you try it, I would genuinely like to know what worked, what felt confusing and what you would change.
Your group chat probably has a biggest yapper. ChatClash just gives them a title.
