We all have those days where git becomes a psychological test rather than a version control system. Here are 3 inside jokes that hit a bit too close to home today.
1. The Commitment Issues
git commit -m "fixed bugs" --allow-empty
Because sometimes you just need to feel like you accomplished something, even if the codebase is still completely broken.
2. The Absolute Panic
git checkout master --force
The digital equivalent of running into a burning building because you messed up your local branch so bad that not even StackOverflow can save you.
3. The Eternal Trap
ESC -> :q! -> Enter
The classic. You didn't want to edit the file, you just wanted to view it. Now you are trapped in Vim forever, and your only option is to burn the terminal down.
Note: Just put these on a couple of clean typography designs for my home office setup wall. If anyone wants to check them out, the link to my portfolio is right there in my dev.to profile bio. ☕💻
What's your most used (or feared) terminal command when things go south? Let's vent in the comments.
