AI is moving at an insane pace. Every week we see breakthroughs in models, agents, copilots, and automation.
But thereβs one area where progress feels slow. DevOps.
And when progress does happen, itβs often:
β Locked behind closed-source tools
β Hidden inside large enterprises
β Or delivered as half-baked solutions that donβt work at scale
So hereβs my DevOps + AI wishlist for 2026 π
1οΈβ£ A GenAI tool that can actually review DevOps code
Not surface-level comments.
Not generic suggestions.
A tool that understands Terraform, Kubernetes, CI/CD pipelines, security, performance, and trade-offs and gives recommendations you can trust.
2οΈβ£ AI that can truly make sense of logs at scale
Most tools work fine until logs grow from MBs to GBs or even petabytes.
At that point, they fall apart. I want AI that can correlate, summarize, and reason over massive log data and help pinpoint real root causes.
3οΈβ£ AI-assisted CI/CD failure debugging
So many companies run their entire business on CI/CD. Yet when a build fails, we still debug it manually scrolling logs, re-running pipelines, guessing.
Imagine an AI that understands failures, traces dependencies, and tells you why it broke and how to fix it.
4οΈβ£ Cost optimization that actually works
There are dozens of cost tools today but none are foolproof. Iβm hoping AI can move us from dashboards to actionable decisions:
5οΈβ£ AI that understands metrics, not just visualizes them
We already have plenty of graphs. What we need is AI that parses thousands of metrics, finds patterns, predicts issues, and gives clear recommendations before things break.
π‘ DevOps engineers donβt need more buzzwords.
We need AI that works at scale, understands systems, and respects production realities. 2026 feels like the year where this should finally change.
