A few weekends ago I got tired of recommending the same Docker tutorials to everyone, so I built my own.
dockhand.lol
No login, no newsletter popup, no "enter your credit card for a free trial". Just 22 lessons across 6 courses covering:
Docker Basics (images, containers, volumes, networks)
Docker Compose (multi-service setups, healthchecks, hot reload)
SSH Tunnels & Docker (remote containers, Docker context)
Production Tips (multi-stage builds, security, cleanup)
Docker Swarm (services, stacks, secrets)
Monitoring & Logging (logging drivers, cAdvisor, Prometheus)
The idea was: can you learn enough Docker in a weekend to be productive? Turns out yes — if you cut the filler.
It's built with SvelteKit + Postgres, dark mode by default (obviously), self-hosted Plausible for analytics (no GA), and fully bilingual (EN/DE).
Would love feedback from anyone who gives it a spin. What's missing? What's over-explained? What's under-explained?
