This is a submission for the WeCoded Challenge: Echoes of Experience
Hello, world! 🌍
When I started, I was kind of clueless—but really hopeful. And honestly, that hope is what kept me going. It’s why I chose "HOPE" as my cover image—because no matter how lost or behind you feel, hope keeps you moving forward. So, here’s my journey.
Growing up, never in my wildest dreams did I think I’d enter the tech world. The truth? I had zero experience. I didn’t even know how to turn on a computer, let alone open a laptop. My school never used computers, and I had no exposure to tech at all.
So, when I started my degree, I was freaked out. I saw people casually saying, "I already know 10 programming languages," and it honestly terrified me.
💻 My First Time Using a Computer
Before college, I had never even touched a computer. I didn’t know how to turn it on, open a file, or do anything tech-related. The first time I touched a computer was in college. I sat there wondering: How do I even start this thing? Thankfully, my instructor guided me: "Press the power button, open File Explorer…" It felt embarrassing, but I had to start somewhere.
👨💻 My First Program
My first-ever program was in C, and guess what? I wrote it in Notepad (not kidding!). I ran it, and BOOM—a thousand errors. I thought, How am I ever going to fix this? But I started debugging, and it turned out I had just missed a few ;
and }
. And when it finally worked? That moment was pure magic. ✨
🐙 Discovering GitHub
When we were introduced to GitHub, I had no idea what it was. So, I just used it like Google Drive for code. 😂 Little did I know how powerful it actually was.
🎨 Falling in Love with Web Dev
Later, I took a frontend dev course (HTML, CSS, JavaScript, Bootstrap—not fancy React yet). And wow, I fell in love with creating beautiful websites! It still gives me life.
🤖 Diving into Machine Learning
My course introduced me to ML, and I was instantly hooked. I did an internship at Diginique TechLabs, which deepened my interest. Later, I also interned at IIT Bhilai, working on real-world projects. Both experiences taught me so much.
🔥 Building, Failing & Growing
After that, I started working on GitHub seriously, building real projects, solid repositories, and a proper portfolio. But let’s be real—I failed so many times. Unsuccessful internship applications, competitions I didn’t win, projects that never got completed, code that crashed—it was a lot.
🌱 Why Hope Matters
There were moments when I felt completely lost. But every time I thought about giving up, hope kept me going. Hope that I could learn, that I could get better, that one day I’d look back and be proud of how far I’ve come. That’s why it’s on my cover image—because hope is what makes the impossible feel possible.
✨ The Key Lesson?
No matter how clueless, scared, or unqualified you feel—just go for it. You’ll either fail or succeed, but you won’t regret trying. I’ve faced rejection, broken code, and imposter syndrome, but I kept learning, kept pushing forward. And it got better.
One day, you’ll look back and smile, proud of how far you’ve come.
💙 This was my journey. I hope it inspires you. Tell me in the comments how you felt about this, and if you have a story to share, I’d love to hear it!
