With more than a month to go, the countdown to Hacktoberfest 2020 has just started: Subscribe to Hacktoberfest 2020 updates.
This year they offer an environmentally friendly choice: Participants can choose the ‘pick trees, not tees’ option to replace a Hacktoberfest T-shirt with a planted tree in celebration of your accomplishments.
Last year more than 60k devs completed the challenge.

Really like the Hacktoberfest I used the occasion, in the past to spread excitement for Open source, I mean you get a cool free! shirt and a bunch of stickers out of it.
This year you can also choose to get a Tree instead!? A though choice!
I might have to pick the shirt anyway, as I already donated to Multiple orgs that promised to plant trees with the Money.
Also I am currently growing my own tree. Granted, it is only 20cm in hight yet... But... Damnit how can I justify to myself that it's okay to try and get the Shirt XD?
Of Course, I will. I had a lot of fun last year. I had done 24 PRs!!
Never participated before might consider it if I am not too busy learning Python and Go.
