Remote vs Hybrid vs Office

What employment option resonates most with you, and what factors influence your preference in today's evolving work landscape?

The realm of employment options is rich and varied, each offering its unique blend of advantages and considerations. From the structured environment of traditional office-based roles to the flexibility of remote work and the hybrid approach that combines both, preferences often hinge on individual needs and work styles. Some prioritize the camaraderie and face-to-face interactions inherent in office settings, while others cherish the autonomy and work-life balance that remote work affords. The hybrid model, straddling between the two, seeks to merge the benefits of in-person collaboration with the freedom of remote arrangements.

Having a young family, I definitely find remote work, ideal. I have a great set up at home with a separate room that I work from with all the equipment I need. There’s really no need for me to go into the office. And I can enjoy more time with my family.

I work a remote job with the option to go in whenever I want. I go in on Fridays just to get out of the house.....Sometimes I am the only one in the office πŸ˜†. This is my first tech job(Data Analytic Support Associate) so I have nothing to compare it to....I can't help but wonder if I would grow at a faster rate if I was in person with my team.

My last 2 gigs were remote/WFH and personally, I loved it and found myself way more productive. Most likely because I was in my comfort zone but I found myself realizing I"d worked way past my first break and sometimes into my lunch before I even noticed I was needing to take a break, same with last break and even quitting time. I just wasn't watching the clock or looking for reasons to getup and move around, was just focused on doing what I was doing.

I'd like to share my thoughts on this:

  • Remote work is fantastic! It allows me to balance spending time with my family while getting my work done.
  • Hybrid work, though, is even more appealing! It offers the flexibility to switch between remote and office work as needed. For instance, I can choose to work remotely and then head to the office in the afternoon for collaboration and even enjoy some time outdoors with colleagues. It's the best of both worlds.

I like the hybrid model. 3 in office and 2 at home. I get the work life balance.
