I Built an AI Legal Assistant at 16 — Here's What I Learned

Over the past few months, I've been building NobleLex, an AI-powered legal assistant focused on Indian law.

The idea started with a simple question:

Can legal research become faster without sacrificing clarity?

That question led me into building features like:

• AI-powered judgment analysis
• Legal research assistance
• Conversation sharing
• Structured legal summaries
• Citation support
• A clean interface designed for long legal documents

The journey wasn't smooth.

I rewrote parts of the frontend, experimented with different AI models, redesigned the user experience multiple times, dealt with deployment issues, rate limits, and countless bugs that only appeared in production.

One thing I learned quickly is that building the product is only half the challenge.

The harder part is making something people genuinely find useful.

I've spent a lot of time improving the little details—making summaries clearer, reducing friction in the interface, and thinking carefully about how AI should assist rather than overwhelm users.

As a student, balancing school with development has also taught me consistency. Even small improvements made every day add up over time.

I'm now at the stage where I'm looking for honest feedback from developers, law students, and legal professionals.
