Three rounds of fluconazole. Still coming back. Sound familiar?
What Candida Actually Is
Candida albicans is a fungus that lives in everyone's gut. Normally, beneficial bacteria keep it in check. When the balance tips — antibiotics, stress, immune suppression, or excessive sugar — Candida proliferates and causes symptoms.
The key mechanism: biofilms. Candida creates a protective matrix (biofilm) that shields it from your immune system AND from antifungals. This is why recurrent candidiasis is so frustrating — you kill the exposed cells, but the biofilm protects the colony.
The Sugar Connection
Candida's primary fuel source is glucose. Every clinical guideline for candidiasis management includes sugar reduction. Yet look at what people consume "for health":
| Product | Sugar per 100ml | Effect on Candida |
|---|---|---|
| Orange juice | 10g | Feeds it |
| Kombucha | 5-15g | Feeds it |
| "Health" ginger shots (most brands) | 20-34g | MASSIVELY feeds it |
| Zero-sugar ginger shot | 0g | Antifungal |
A ginger shot with 34g sugar/100ml is literally feeding Candida while marketing itself as healthy. The irony is clinical-grade.
The Ginger + Curcumin Approach
Research shows direct anti-Candida activity:
| Mechanism | Action | Evidence |
|---|---|---|
| Direct antifungal | Ginger inhibits C. albicans growth | In vitro studies |
| Biofilm destruction | Curcumin disrupts Candida biofilms | Multiple studies |
| Immune activation | NK cells, macrophages | Moderate evidence |
| Microbiome support | Supports beneficial bacteria | Emerging |
| Gut barrier | Strengthens intestinal barrier | Strong |
The biofilm destruction is the key differentiator. Most antifungals struggle with biofilm-protected colonies.
My Protocol
- Morning: 1 zero-sugar ginger + turmeric + black pepper shot
- Sugar elimination (non-negotiable — you cannot fight Candida while feeding it)
- Probiotics (rebuild the competition)
- Prescribed antifungals if needed (the natural approach supports, doesn't replace)
The Product
INTI — zero sugar, organic. The zero sugar isn't optional when dealing with Candida — it's medically contraindicated to consume sugar during active candidiasis.
If your health routine includes sugar, you're feeding your problems, not fighting them.
