I made a QR code website, but no one visits it. Can anyone give me some suggestions? What went wrong?

Hey devs πŸ‘‹

I recently launched a small side project:
πŸ‘‰ QRCodeHub.net – a fast, free, no-login QR code generator.

I built it with care, designed a clean UI, made sure it's fast, responsive, and has no ads.
But after launching it... almost no one is visiting.

I originally wanted to make some dynamic QR codes, or some funny QR codes with pictures as the background or some QR codes with different shapes.

I think the current qrcode track is too crowded, there are too many people, and the functions implemented are great. As an ordinary developer, the qrcode I am currently making has no special features.

I believe this is an SEO-related issue. You can try googling or asking an AI for a free QR code generator website, but the results do not include your site.

By the way, I like the UX of your website.

True, SEO is really tough for new sites. Also love the clean UI!

Yes, I'm working hard to learn SEO. Haha. I'm honored that someone likes this UI style.

Sites take a long time to index, you need to be patient. Also, try to tell as much about your project as possible in all available social networks, so the site will be indexed faster.

You can also pay for some minimal advertising in Google Ads for five bucks, so that it will be indexed faster too.
Also do not forget to add your site to search.google.com/search-console

You need to think through your business model, otherwise your project will die long before it finds its users.

As for the UI, it would be nice for you to work on the mobile version (it looks raw now), and also work on the appearance of the site in programs like Dark Reader (and ideally add a dark theme).

Thanks for sharing! Don't mind (missing) traffic for a non-commercial side project. Remember that commercial competitors invest a lot of money and marketing, while open-source projects often have a reputation built over years and decades.

Indeed, with the continuous improvement of vibe coding, there will be more and more useless junk websites. There is no lack of implementation, but the lack of implementation with ideas. I have also been thinking about the real needs and practices in the new era environment recently.
