Hello Dev.to Family π
My name is Moeed ul Hassan, a developer from Gujrat, Pakistan. For this yearβs Dev.to Frontend Challenge, I didnβt just build a random template. I decided to solve a real-world problem β by redesigning the outdated website of my own college, Zamindar College (University of Gujrat).
π― The Problem:
The previous college website was:
Outdated and visually dull πΈοΈ
Non-responsive on mobile π±
Hard to navigate for both students and faculty π§©
Slow and bulky β³
I saw this as an opportunity to do something meaningful. So instead of just coding, I tried to create impact.
π‘ The Redesign β What I Built:
β
Fully responsive layout
β
Modern design with smooth transitions and animations
β
Student-focused UX β quick access to important links
β
Optimized for performance β works even on low-end devices
β
Built-in dark mode π
π οΈ Tech Stack:
HTML + Tailwind CSS for UI
Vanilla JS for interactivity
Figma for layout planning
Hosted on GitHub Pages
π₯ The Real-World Impact:
This redesign is more than a portfolio piece β itβs a contribution to my community of students who deserve a better digital experience every day.
"Frontend isnβt about fancy gradients β itβs about fixing broken experiences."

π§ Final Thoughts:
If you're a developer looking for a project idea β look around you. Real problems are everywhere. You donβt need permission to fix things.
