Hello Dev.to Family ๐
My name is Moeed ul Hassan, a developer from Gujrat, Pakistan. For this yearโs Dev.to Frontend Challenge, I didnโt just build a random template. I decided to solve a real-world problem โ by redesigning the outdated website of my own college, Zamindar College (University of Gujrat).
๐ฏ The Problem:
The previous college website was:
Outdated and visually dull ๐ธ๏ธ
Non-responsive on mobile ๐ฑ
Hard to navigate for both students and faculty ๐งฉ
Slow and bulky โณ
I saw this as an opportunity to do something meaningful. So instead of just coding, I tried to create impact.
๐ก The Redesign โ What I Built:
โ
Fully responsive layout
โ
Modern design with smooth transitions and animations
โ
Student-focused UX โ quick access to important links
โ
Optimized for performance โ works even on low-end devices
โ
Built-in dark mode ๐
๐ ๏ธ Tech Stack:
HTML + Tailwind CSS for UI
Vanilla JS for interactivity
Figma for layout planning
Hosted on GitHub Pages
๐ฅ The Real-World Impact:
This redesign is more than a portfolio piece โ itโs a contribution to my community of students who deserve a better digital experience every day.
"Frontend isnโt about fancy gradients โ itโs about fixing broken experiences."

๐ง Final Thoughts:
If you're a developer looking for a project idea โ look around you. Real problems are everywhere. You donโt need permission to fix things.
