Redesigned My college's Old Website to New Modern and Fresh Look....

Hello Dev.to Family ๐Ÿ‘‹
My name is Moeed ul Hassan, a developer from Gujrat, Pakistan. For this yearโ€™s Dev.to Frontend Challenge, I didnโ€™t just build a random template. I decided to solve a real-world problem โ€” by redesigning the outdated website of my own college, Zamindar College (University of Gujrat).

๐ŸŽฏ The Problem:
The previous college website was:

Outdated and visually dull ๐Ÿ•ธ๏ธ

Non-responsive on mobile ๐Ÿ“ฑ

Hard to navigate for both students and faculty ๐Ÿงฉ

Slow and bulky โณ

I saw this as an opportunity to do something meaningful. So instead of just coding, I tried to create impact.

๐Ÿ’ก The Redesign โ€“ What I Built:
โœ… Fully responsive layout
โœ… Modern design with smooth transitions and animations
โœ… Student-focused UX โ€“ quick access to important links
โœ… Optimized for performance โ€“ works even on low-end devices
โœ… Built-in dark mode ๐ŸŒ‘

๐Ÿ› ๏ธ Tech Stack:
HTML + Tailwind CSS for UI

Vanilla JS for interactivity

Figma for layout planning

Hosted on GitHub Pages

๐Ÿ’ฅ The Real-World Impact:
This redesign is more than a portfolio piece โ€” itโ€™s a contribution to my community of students who deserve a better digital experience every day.

"Frontend isnโ€™t about fancy gradients โ€” itโ€™s about fixing broken experiences."

๐Ÿง  Final Thoughts:
If you're a developer looking for a project idea โ€” look around you. Real problems are everywhere. You donโ€™t need permission to fix things.

Thanks for reading.
