Learning Progress Pt.10

Daily learning part ten

Today I had my whole day studying. I woke up at 7:30 AM to go to an Islamic course which I go to once a week on Saturdays. There we have 4 lectures from 8:30 to 12:20. After the course I came home and rested for about an hour, an hour and a half. I started reading the book assigned by my literature teacher, Lahuta e Malcis by Gjergj Fishta. It is a 700 page book, and I read 350 pages today, planning to finish it tomorrow. I hate this book; I don't really like poems — I like prose more. The exact same teacher who gave us a lecture on why we shouldn't do things we don't like gave us a book that we all hate. More than half the class are going to lie as usual, but I am not willing to take chances, so I am reading it. Around 17:05 I completed 200 pages, so I left the other 150 for later.

At 17:30, I started my daily 5‑hour cybersecurity grind but only completed 3 hours due to the book I had to read. In that session I completed a JavaScript section — JS Errors. Then I started doing small scripts like a URL hostname extractor and IP address extractor. Then I experimented with curl, a CLI tool I learned about 2 or 3 days ago. Then I was looking for a public library that has reliable power outlets for a laptop because my laptop's battery can hold up to 2 hours max, but I couldn't find any. I also looked into Prishtina Hackerspace, a community workspace for technology, art and science. I don't get these local tech groups, especially the ones about hacking and cybersecurity. I mean, people show up there to feel productive without actually building anything. You rely on other people (if you are working together and a part of a team is slow, then the whole project slows down), and not to mention the time drain (travel, small talk, waiting for others to catch up). I mean, what's the point? I can do the work that they do 3x faster at home. Maybe I think this because I am not a social type of guy, but still you can't convince me you are actually learning something there.

Anyway, now it's 00:03 and I have completed the daily reading goal which was 350 pages, and now I am planning to study for my history test which I will retake because I got a D on it. I am not really studying for school; I am treating it more as a side quest to get the diploma. Anyway, for today I'm done with blogging, so bye.
