As developers and founders, we wear a lot of hats. We write code, fix bugs, handle marketing, and talk to users. But there is one hat that almost universally kills our momentum: Admin work.
Whenever I needed to send a simple invoice to a client, generate a quick quote, or draft a payslip, I found myself hitting the same wall. The existing software was either incredibly bloated, insanely expensive, or forced me through a 10-step onboarding process just to generate a single PDF.
I didn't want to become a certified accountant; I just wanted to get paid and get back to building.
So, I built SmoothLedger.
What is SmoothLedger?
SmoothLedger is a privacy-first, zero-friction financial utility suite designed specifically for freelancers, solo founders, and small business owners.
The core philosophy is simple: Immediate Utility. You shouldn't have to create an account, verify your email, and hand over your life story just to generate a professional document.
The Core Features
I focused entirely on speed and a clean, distraction-free UI. Right now, the platform handles the big three administrative headaches:
Instant Invoices: Generate beautiful, professional, and branded invoices in seconds.
Formal Quotes: Quickly draft and send project estimates that look like they came from a Fortune 500 company.
Detailed Payslips: Easily generate compliant payslips without needing a bloated HR platform.
Privacy by Default
Because the core tools don't require a mandatory signup, we don't hoard your financial data. You generate what you need, download your high-quality PDF, and move on. For power users who do want cloud storage, saved templates, and no watermarks, I've also built out a Pro tier.
Built for the Builders
I built this because it was the tool I desperately needed for my own workflow. If you are a freelancer or a founder who wants to spend less time in spreadsheets and more time in your code editor, I'd love for you to try it out.

I'm actively iterating on this, so any feedback on the UI, the generated PDFs, or feature requests would be massively appreciated. Let me know what you think in the comments!
