I'm a software engineer who noticed that discovery in dentistry is completely broken. Dental professionals at small practices never see product reps. They pick labs based on word of mouth. Software vendors spam everyone with cold emails but there's no independent place to compare what exists.
So I built three things to fix it.
What I Built
FreeDentalSamples.com — dental professionals verify their license once and request free samples from brands. Brands get full lead data and fulfill through their existing Shopify store. I'm just the verified routing layer — no inventory, no logistics.
5 months in: 400+ verified professionals, 52k samples distributed, ~120k patients reached. Growing ~6/day with zero paid acquisition.
BestDentalLabs.org — searchable directory of 100+ dental labs. Filter by specialty, certification, turnaround time, location. SEO-first: static page per lab at /state/city/lab-name. Within weeks of launch the VP of AI Engineering at Glidewell Dental — the largest dental lab in the US — found it through search and reached out. Zero outreach on my end.
BestDentalSoftware.org — just launched. Dental software directory across 9 categories. The trigger: I listed one app on FDS as a free trial with zero promotion and 9 professionals clicked through in 48 hours. Same audience, different discovery problem.
The One Thing That Mattered
Don't build transactions, fulfillment, or logistics. Route to existing infrastructure. That constraint kept me shipping.
Verification is the moat. Every brand conversation changed the moment I said "verified dental professionals." Not dental professionals. Verified. The license check that felt like friction is the thing that makes the leads worth paying for.
