I remember joining to make a PR on a WordPress plugin! I had no idea what I was doing and didn't end up using GH professionally until 2017.
This is a cool project. 🙂 Although for some, this is not necessarily their "open source birthday", as there were other platforms existing before GitHub, such as SourceForge. 😄
