A cybersecurity brand went from strong SEO to +579 AI Overview appearances. The full breakdown.

A globally recognized organization offers cybersecurity certifications such as CEH, CND, and others that are widely known in the industry.

Their SEO was already strong with high domain authority and established rankings.

The problem: all of that meant nothing in AI search. Despite brand recognition, their content wasn’t surfacing in Google AI Overviews, ChatGPT, or Gemini when buyers searched for cybersecurity training options.

The diagnosis from the audit:

  • Technical pages structured for crawling, not for AI citation
  • FAQ content written in formal certification language, not in the conversational question format AI engines pull from
  • No speakable schema flagging content as AI citable
  • Limited cross-platform citation signals in the cybersecurity education space

What changed over 6 months:

  • Technical pages were restructured with AI-optimized FAQ schema.
  • Content was refocused around the exact questions certification candidates ask AI tools when evaluating training programs. Strategic content expansion was built specifically for Gemini and AI Overviews.

The result:
+26% AI mention growth across platforms
+579 AI Overview appearances (from near zero)
+51 new Gemini mentions

The lesson:

  • Brand authority in traditional search doesn’t automatically transfer.
  • AI search is a separate channel with separate requirements.

And the gap between those two channels is where the opportunity lives.

Is your established brand being left out of AI answers?
The audit shows you where the gap is.
