What Foodmartex Has Been Cooking (1 Months In)

If you've been following the journey, you'll know we haven't just been sitting still. For close to one and a half months now, we've been in the kitchen, and if anyone asks what we're making, I'll tell them: "A feast that will make every vendor, rider, and customer say 'God when e better!'"

So let me yarn a few things that have happened.

Week 1-2: We fixed the pipeline

We didn't just "deploy and pray." We overhauled the way vendors won't waste market time managing opening hours again. We added timezone-aware opening hours that will cover Lagos, and the best part? It's not by force, if the vendor hasn't set theirs, the system defaults perfectly well. We also hardened the Paystack reconciliation so it can track every kobo like it's part of a national budget.

Week 3-4: Analytics that actually matter

We added ViewAnalytics permission so admins can actually see what they ought to see—not ghost data. We set up dashboards that show revenue, pending counts, and every metric that will make sense when you look at the numbers. We also built the careers module so every "We're hiring" post hot on LinkedIn can land on our platform, with an admin pipeline that will handle applicants like human beings.

Week 5-6: The money work

Immuneledger reconciliation has taken centre stage. Exponential backoff for retries, per-record failure isolation that caps memory usage so there's no wahala, and chunked queries that eliminate the N+1 problem that always makes PHP cry. We've also enhanced subscription plan management so when a vendor wants to upload per-invoice documentation, it fits perfectly.

But it's not just the code we've written

We've built engagement features that bring customers back. Premier League predictions where a person can predict and smile even when they lose. Spin wheel rewards that aren't just for the "lucky ones", they redistribute wealth for the people in Ile-Ife. Raffle campaigns where people enter, draws happen, and winners emerge naturally. All this while we keep the referral engine that makes early adopters smile to the bank.

And the riders? The unsung heroes

We track every trip, every drop-off, every "I've just reached the front gate" message. We calculate deductions, manage ratings, and ensure that the one carrying your third-party chicken will collect payment on time.

So what's the flavour we've peppered with?

If you're a vendor, your shop should open when it should open, and close when it should close. No more "the system has closed on me" excuses.

If you're a customer, you should find anything you need—from restaurant jollof to pharmacy paracetamol to supermarket rice—all on one platform, all well organised.

If you're a rider, your journey should be smooth, your pay should arrive when it should, and your rating should reflect what you actually do.

The kitchen doesn't carry the last person

We don't hide wires in the house. But we also don't carry anyone who won't align with the vision. If you want to build, scale, and eat with the best Nigeria and beyond have to offer, who is ready for this opportunity?

Stay tuned. The best is yet to come. We're not just cooking; we're cooking something that will change how Africa buys and sells online.

Abeg, let's not yarn again here for now. The code for today has rested, but the impact it will live well well.
