This project is an experimental sound engine that merges maqam-based musical logic with algorithmic composition.
Built with Tone.js, the system generates living musical structures through motif creation, variation, cadences, walking bass lines, and rhythm patterns inspired by traditional usul.
The sound design features:
3D spatial panning (HRTF) for immersive movement
Ping-pong delay and reverb to create a mystical acoustic space
Micro pitch drift (LFO-driven pitch shifting) that adds spiritual motion without breaking the maqam character
The goal is to move beyond Western harmonic conventions and reinterpret Eastern modal music through modern Web Audio technologies.
The project runs entirely in the browser as a single HTML file, generating real-time, evolving music.
