ONLYOFFICE Docs 8.3 released

The latest version of the ONLYOFFICE online editors is already available with around 30 new features and multiple bug fixes across the suite.

Support for Apple iWork and Hancom Office file formats

The following file formats are now supported:

• Apple iWork formats: Pages, Keynote, Numbers
• Hancom Office formats: .hwp, .hwpx

Just open any files of the specified formats in your ONLYOFFICE to check yourself that everything works properly and the formatting is preserved.

If you need to edit such files, they will be converted and saved to OOXML formats (DOCX, PPTX, XLSX). However in this case, full formatting compliance is not guaranteed.

Improved RTL support

We are constantly improving localization of ONLYOFFICE Docs to make our suite accessible to all users, all over the world. Refining RTL support is one of the most important directions for us. With this release, we added:

• ability to change the default sheet direction;
• ability to change the paragraph direction (LTR ⇌ RTL) in text documents;
• fixed display of non-printable characters for RTL paragraphs in text documents;
• RTL interface support for the embedded viewer.

What’s new in PDF Editor

• Add a professional touch to your contracts, agreements, and other PDF files with stamps.
• Undo your last actions during real-time co-editing sessions in PDF files without disrupting your team’s workflow.
• Enjoy the convenience of selecting multiple pages at once to rearrange or delete them.
• Change the highlight color, add a comment, or remove an annotation in just several clicks using the quick panel.
• Adjust opacity of the highlight color when adding or editing annotations.

What’s new in spreadsheets

• Like for the PDF Editor, it’s now possible to undo last actions during real-time co-editing. Collaboration in sheets has never been smoother.
• Automatically update data from the linked sources to ensure that important numbers are up to date as possible.
• More options for AutoFilling cells: fill days, weekdays, months, years.
• Open and save calculated items in Pivot Tables.
• Use the updated function wizard with descriptions of the function arguments to get a hint.
• Show/hide horizontal and vertical scroll bar.

What’s new in presentations

• Meet the new Design tab for more intuitive working with your slides. Seamlessly apply styles, change color schemes, and adjust the slide size.
• Draw directly on the canvas in the slideshow or presenter mode using the pen and highlighter tools.
• Rename Slide Master.
• Access the Show from Beginning option via the top Quick Access Toolbar.

Unleash your creativity with the Merge shapes feature – combine them in seconds to create custom visuals.

More useful enhancements

• Ability to combine and compare text documents on the character or word level.
• Improved usability when working with protected text documents.
• Ability to toggle field codes.
• Reset crop for images is now available from the right panel and context menu.

Localization

Besides, in version 8.3, you will find:

• Albanian localization (sq-AL);
• More languages available in the list of exceptions for Text AutoCorrect.
