Mobile seems to be a big market, and money-maker, at least according to my non-dev friends.
Can you share your journey on how long does it takes, what does it takes, and why did you get the privilege to do mobile dev?
I would be interested to learn about whether mobile needs a server, how did you connected to it with security; and did you make the server at all in the first place as well (do you rely on third-party services or co-workers?).

Slightly off-topic but...
If you're in it for the money (and/or job opportunities), you might want to check with some actual mobile developers before jumping in.
I already have a stable full-time job, so I am just looking for gold mine. (However, I am not perfectly satisfied with my job, political-wise; so I do look for change of pace.)
Otherwise, I do care about perceived sense of usefulness, popularity, and self-actualization.
Somehow, I seem attracted to tech and google-able stuff, but I am not totally ready for "race-to-the-bottom" competition.
With react native mobile dev is quite similar to web and has a good market as well. Thought mobile development has its gotchas as well.
