Quicktime is great for screen recordings on macOS, but only offers fullscreen or, area-set-by-dragging modes for capture.
Window Recorder is intended to provide a similar experience to the built-in screenshot tool, that simply "snaps" to windows, only to capture that exact region.
It's free initially, but will provide a premium upgrade in a forthcoming version.
