Robert reported that the gauges and binnacle in his build looked completely different from ours. He was right.
The probe had been capturing screenshots from a manually positioned camera set to FOV 70, aimed at the centre of the gauge cluster. The actual in-game cabin camera, updateInteriorCamera, sits at the same point but uses FOV 86 and points nearly horizontal, 46 degrees along the car axis. Those are two different frames: in-game everything is 1.33 times smaller, and the gauges land at 72 percent of screen height rather than the centre. We were judging something the player never sees.
That invalidated the previous round of layout work. The fix touched 3 files, added 230 lines and removed 17.
The record does not say what the occlusion test found beyond the note that it was cut off in the source.
Capture reference frames from the exact camera the engine uses at runtime, not from a manually positioned stand-in.
