As a developer, it is quite common to have multiple windows open. I often work with Laravel and React in two separate windows, React controlling my front end and Laravel my back end. I am constantly switching between windows. When working on multiple windows, things get confusing rather quickly. There is a better way, using custom window colors that will help improve your workflow.
Window Colors extension gives each new VS Code window a unique color based on a hash of the root directory name when it is opened.
