Why I built a free, privacy-first web tools site (and what's next)

Like a lot of developers, I use small utility tools constantly — compressing an image, merging a couple of PDFs, formatting messy JSON. The problem is most of these tools live on ad-heavy sites that quietly upload your file to their server to "process" it, even for things that don't need a server at all.

That's why I built QuickWebTools.in — a small, growing toolbox where everything runs client-side, in your browser. No sign-up, no uploads, no watermarks.

What's live right now: https://quickwebtools.in

Image compressor
PDF merger
QR code generator
JSON formatter/validator
Password generator
Meta tag generator
Word counter

What's coming: I'm building toward 100+ tools across images, PDFs, text, dev utilities, converters, and calculators.

This is a solo project and still early — I'd genuinely love feedback on what's useful, what's missing, or what's broken. What's a small tool you find yourself needing all the time that you wish "just worked" without an account or an upload?

Notes for you
Swap in real numbers (exact tool count) before posting — don't leave it stale.
Post dev.to/Indie Hackers content a few days before Product Hunt so you're not asking the same audience twice in one day.
Reply to every single comment on both platforms in the first 24 hours — engagement is what gets you surfaced in each platform's algorithm.
For Reddit later, do NOT reuse this exact copy — Reddit sniffs out copy-pasted promo text fast. Write something shorter and more conversational, tailored to the specific subreddit's tone.
