From "Unknown Intelligent" to "Realised Fool": My journey as a non-tech founder.

The Trap & The Arrogance I was stuck. I was spending 12 hours of my daily life in the 9-to-5 rat race, building someone else's dream.

But here is the embarrassing truth: I** thought I was smarter than the 90% of people stuck in the same trap**. I thought I could fix my life immediately. I thought I had the answers.

I soon realized what a fool I was. (Ha ha... painful laughter).

T*he Graveyard of Easy Money* Like everyone else, I looked for shortcuts in the "Bible of Financial Independence" (YouTube, Instagram, Reddit).

I tried trading first. I quickly realized that for a beginner with limited capital, trading isn't a path to heaven. It’s a path to the graveyard. I felt scammed by online gurus promising easy millions.

The Trigger & The Reality Check Then I stumbled upon SaaS. I saw an 18-year-old on Twitter making $10k MRR, while I—with all my years of experience—was barely earning $1k.

It didn't make me arrogant. It humbled me. I didn't think, "I can beat him." I thought: "If I start slow today, maybe—just maybe—I can reach 10% of what he has achieved, even with the limited knowledge I have."

From "Yacht Dreams" to "Hard Truths" I researched patterns. I saw developers complaining about API monitoring tools failing to catch real downtime. I thought I found a gap. Since I couldn't code, I asked an AI to write the script.

This is where my mindset shifted completely.

I used to think:

"Code today, ship tomorrow, sail on a yacht the day after."

Now, drowning in error messages about Nginx and Flask, I realize the truth:

"It requires constant learning, shouting to an unheard audience, and getting feedback to improve the product inch by inch."

The MVP: DocChecker I have built an initial MVP called DocChecker. It runs on a $5 server. It checks for the "200 OK" and if it is down triggers email alert to the clients.

I have learned the architecture, I have learned how to host it, and I have learned how much I still don't know.

The Right Direction I feel like I have finally turned my foot toward the right direction. It might take a lot longer to reach my destination than I originally thought. There will be no yacht tomorrow.

But for the first time, I am building something real, and I am heading the right way.

As a next feature, I will add the specific keyword check in the API monitoring to avoid the false alarm.

The Ask: Since I’m a non-tech guy using AI, I’m worried my UI/UX is weird. If you have a second, does the dashboard make sense? Or does it look like an alien built it?
