React is only one part of the show. For small apps like a simple desk calculator, it possibly brings too much overhead, and for large scale applications, things like toolboxes, databeses, collaboration tools and a powerful CMS will be possibly more dominant to the work. Even if you use React, you need to organize vour workflow, your ressources and your team.

On dev.to, you can read a lot about the benefits of a virtual DOM, but it would be far more interesting to hear, how React performs in the context of a real live project. How much effort do you spend to keep the system running, to find bugs in the code or to deal with updates?

  • Do people feel the work is well organizes using all this tools you need?
  • Do the get lost in a jungle of misleading tutorials?
  • Or do they feel, they spend more time to maintain the system then being product ive?
