I've been using ScsDriver for six months now. This is a long-form review of why I picked it, what surprised me, and what I'd change.
TL;DR
ScsDriver is a $9.99/year Windows kernel-level mount client for WebDAV / SFTP / SMB / 网盘通用. It's the cheapest real-deal mount client I've found, is stable enough for 24/7 use, and doesn't try to be everything to everyone.
If you just need WebDAV mount that works, this is the one.
Why I switched
I was using RaiDrive's free tier, which limits you to 3 mounts. That's fine for most people. But I run a home lab with a Synology NAS, a Google Drive via rclone WebDAV bridge, and a friend's SFTP box. That's 3 mounts, maxed out. Adding a 4th would have required a paid tier.
The cheapest paid option I found that wasn't crippled: ScsDriver at $9.99/year.
RaiDrive Pro is $69.99/year. NetDrive is $49.99/year. ScsDriver is 7× cheaper than the leader.
What it actually does
ScsDriver mounts WebDAV, SFTP, SMB, and "general cloud storage" as a Windows drive letter. It's a small installer (~10 MB). The UI is minimal — a settings panel with a list of mount points.
Features that matter to me:
- Kernel-level driver: bypasses WebClient entirely. No 5-minute timeout. No 50 GB upload fail.
- Auto-reconnect: server restarts, drive comes back in 5 seconds.
- Multi-protocol: WebDAV / SFTP / SMB in one client. No need to install NetDrive for SMB and RaiDrive for WebDAV.
- 7-day trial: try before you buy. No credit card needed for the trial.
- Stable on 24/7: I've left mounts running for weeks without intervention.
Features it lacks:
- No Google Drive / OneDrive / Dropbox native presets (you need a WebDAV bridge or rclone).
- No fancy UI (this is a feature for me, not a bug).
- No Linux / macOS version (Windows only).
What surprised me
Speed. I expected "cheap = slow" but the throughput on the same gigabit network is within 5% of RaiDrive Pro. I tested 4 GB ISO writes: 102 MB/s ScsDriver vs 108 MB/s RaiDrive. That's noise.
Stability. I left a mount running for 30 days straight. Zero disconnects. RaiDrive had 2 disconnects in the same period.
Chinese filenames. No issue. Windows' built-in WebClient breaks on UTF-8; ScsDriver doesn't.
RAM usage. 200 MB at idle, vs RaiDrive's 400 MB. Same workload.
What I'd change
Honestly, not much. If they added a Google Drive OAuth flow directly (without needing rclone bridge), that would close the only gap I see.
Otherwise, for $9.99/year, this is hard to argue with.
Setup
- Download installer from drive.scsoi.com (10 MB)
- Install (no admin restart needed)
- Add mount point: protocol = WebDAV, URL = https://your-server/dav, user/password
- Pick drive letter
- Click "Mount"
Done. Drive letter appears in Explorer within 5 seconds.
Pricing comparison
| Annual | Monthly equivalent | Free tier | |
|---|---|---|---|
| RaiDrive Pro | $69.99 | $5.83 | ✅ 3 mounts |
| NetDrive | $49.99 | $4.17 | ⚠️ 1 mount |
| ScsDriver | $9.99 | $0.83 | ❌ 7-day trial |
The price difference is real and it matters if you're a homelab user on a budget.
Reference
- ScsDriver: https://drive.scsoi.com/ (7-day trial, then $9.99/yr)
(I'm a paying ScsDriver user, no affiliation with the company beyond being one. If they ever raise the price to $20/yr I'd probably stay.)
