How I Built a Free Chrome Extension to Analyze Amazon Products in 30 Seconds

Finding winning products on Amazon usually means spending hours switching between tabs, managing complex Excel spreadsheets, and calculating profit margins manually.

To solve this for Amazon sellers, I built SellerScope Global — a free Chrome extension designed to streamline product research into a fast 3-step workflow.

🛠️ The Core Problem
When evaluating an Amazon product, sellers need to quickly check:

Sales Estimates & BSR: Is the product actually selling?

Profit Margins & Fees: After FBA fees and GST/taxes, is there enough margin left?

Competition: Is the niche too crowded for a new seller?

Most existing tools require expensive monthly subscriptions ($50–$99/month), which can be a heavy barrier for beginner and growing sellers.

🚀 How SellerScope Global Automates Research
Instead of leaving the Amazon product page, the extension overlays essential data directly on top of the listing:

📊 Opportunity Score (0–100): Instantly gauge market demand vs. competition.

📈 Monthly Sales Volume & BSR Tracking: Get quick estimates of how many units sell per month.

💰 FBA Profit & Margin Calculator: Factoring in fulfillment fees, product costs, and GST automatically.

💡 Tech Stack & Architecture
For fellow developers interested in how browser extensions process real-time page data:

Manifest V3: Built using the latest Chrome Extension API specs for better security and fast content scripts.

Content Scripts: Used to extract key page parameters (ASIN, BSR, pricing) without slowing down page render times.

Background Service Workers: Handles API requests and background calculations asynchronously.
