Judgment Is the Skill That Outlasts the Stack

The tools will keep changing.

The language you know now,
the framework you're proud of,
the platform on your resume —
half of it
will be legacy
in a decade.

Chase only the tools
and you're always
starting over.

Underneath the tools
is something slower.

Judgment.

Knowing which problem
is worth solving.
Knowing when
the clever answer
is the wrong one.
Knowing what to build,
and what to refuse.

No tool gives you that.
No tool takes it away.

The machine can now
write the code.
It cannot decide
whether the code
should exist.

That decision
is judgment,
and judgment
is the last thing
to be automated —

because it's the part
that was never
really about
the tool.

So learn the tools.
You have to.

But spend your deepest hours
on the thing
that carries over:
taste, judgment,
knowing why.

The stack turns over.
Your judgment
compounds.
