Beginners fill every gap.
Every beat, a note.
Every silence, a fear.

But the music
isn't only in the sound.
It's in the room the sound is given.

The rest between two notes
is what lets them both be heard.
Take it away
and you don't get more music.
You get noise.

Space is not absence.
Space is a choice —
the confidence to not play,
to trust that less
will land harder.

The same is true of everything you make.
The paragraph you cut.
The feature you didn't add.
The word you left out.

Don't fill the silence
because it scares you.
Leave it,
and let what's around it
finally breathe.
