Why a Logo Doesn't Break Scannability
QR codes have built-in error correction at four levels: L (7%), M (15%), Q (25%), and H (30%). This tool uses Level H, which means up to 30% of the QR surface can be obscured and it still scans correctly.
A typical small logo covers 15–22% of the QR area — well within the error correction budget. Every generated QR is tested to be scannable with a logo at that size.

Custom Colors — What Works and What Doesn't
Use high contrast. The scanner needs to distinguish the dark modules from the light background. Dark foreground on light background always works. Light foreground on dark background also works, but some older scanners handle it less reliably.
Avoid similar lightness. Dark blue on dark green will fail most scanners. The contrast ratio should be at least 4:1 (similar to WCAG accessibility rules for text).
Test before printing. Scan the generated QR with your phone before putting it on a business card or banner. The tool's live preview scans correctly, but test with the final printed or displayed version.
