Wordle gives you 6 attempts to guess a hidden 5-letter word. Each guess tells you which letters are correct, which are present but misplaced, and which aren't in the word at all.

How to Play

Type any valid 5-letter word and press Enter. After each guess, tiles change colour:

🟩 Green — correct letter, correct position
🟨 Yellow — correct letter, wrong position
⬜ Grey — letter not in the word at all

Use the colour feedback to narrow down the answer. You have 6 guesses.

Keyboard: Type on your physical keyboard or tap the on-screen keyboard — both work simultaneously. Press Backspace to delete a letter.

Daily Mode vs Unlimited Mode

Daily mode — one puzzle per day, the same word for everyone. Resets at midnight. Your in-progress guess state is saved if you close the tab — come back later and resume exactly where you left off. Your win streak is tracked across days.

Unlimited mode — a new random word every game. No daily cap. Play back-to-back rounds as long as you want. Ideal for practice or when one puzzle a day isn't enough.

Switch between modes at any time using the buttons above the board.

How Duplicate Letters Are Handled

If the target word is CRANE and you guess ANNEX:

The first N would be yellow (present, wrong position)
The second N would be grey (already accounted for)

The evaluator uses a two-pass system: it locks in all green (correct position) letters first, then marks remaining yellows only for letters not yet accounted for. This prevents misleading double-yellow hints.

Strategy Tips

Start with a strong opener. Words like CRANE, SLATE, or AUDIO cover common letters across multiple positions. Any word with 4–5 unique common letters works.

Use yellows aggressively. A yellow letter tells you the letter is in the word — move it to a different position in your next guess. Don't repeat the same wrong position.

Grey letters are gold. Every grey letter eliminates a letter from consideration. By guess 3, if you've used 15 unique letters, your remaining options are few.
