Building backend infrastructure solo is harder than frontend 😅

I’ve been working on backend systems for startups recently, and one thing I’ve realized:
Frontend problems are visible.
Backend problems are silent… until everything breaks.
Scaling APIs, handling traffic spikes, optimizing media delivery — all of this becomes critical once users grow.
Curious how other developers here approach backend scalability early on. Do you overbuild from the start or scale later?
