If you're anything like me, your browser tabs have probably gotten out of control at some point.
20 tabs.
30 tabs.
50+ tabs.
At some point, finding the one tab you actually need becomes a problem.
That's why I started building Tab Wise — a Chrome extension focused on making tab management simpler and more organized.
Today, I'm releasing Tab Wise v2.4.0.
What's new in v2.4.0?
This release focuses on improving the everyday experience of using Tab Wise.
Fuzzy tab search
You don't always remember the exact title of a tab.
The new fuzzy search makes it easier to find tabs without needing to type the exact words.
/ keyboard shortcut
You can now press / to quickly jump into tab search.
The goal is simple: spend less time clicking around and more time finding what you need.
New tab button
A small addition, but one that makes the workflow feel much more natural.
React 19
Tab Wise has also been upgraded to React 19, along with several internal improvements.
UI improvements
I've cleaned up parts of the side panel to make the interface feel more consistent and easier to navigate.
Bug fixes and reliability improvements
This release also includes fixes around favicon loading, feedback forms, background authentication validation, and other smaller issues.
I've also expanded the test coverage and removed some legacy popup code.
The idea behind Tab Wise
I'm still building Tab Wise around one simple idea:
Your browser shouldn't feel like a junk drawer.
Tabs are useful, but managing a growing collection of them shouldn't become a job by itself.
Tab Wise is meant to make that experience a little simpler.
If you regularly have 20, 30, or 50+ tabs open, give it a try.

Built in public, shaped by feedback
Tab Wise started as a small side project, and it's been great to see it gradually turn into something people actually use.
A huge thank you to everyone who has:
- Contributed code
- Reported bugs
- Suggested features
- Shared feedback
- Installed and used Tab Wise
Every suggestion and piece of feedback helps influence what I build next.
If you're already using Tab Wise, I'd love to know:
What should I build next?
You can share your ideas, report issues, or contribute to the project.
More improvements coming soon.
